There are two ways of spreading light.

While the world around us churns in turmoil, hands wring, and tears are shed, there is only one way out of the abyss.  This is Jesus Christ our Lord.  He is always there, but it is up to us to follow His direction.  We often believe we can handle things on our own.  We cannot; it isn’t in man to “direct his steps.”   Jeremiah 10:23   Jesus told us He was the way, the truth, and the life.  Without Him, we are without true light, lost in darkness, spinning about, and troubled on many fronts.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”     John 14:6

Sometimes it appears mankind wants a complicated answer to problems which could be solved simply by taking God’s Word and applying it to our lives.  If each would do this, our world would be filled with light from above and a far more peaceful place to live and raise our families.  God loves us.  He gave His only Son for us. We never give the devil credit for all which has gone wrong in the world and in our lives.      ~ E. L.

“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.”  Philippians 2:12

Centuries ago, Christ launched His movement to enlighten a benighted world.  He selected twelve apostles to whom He handed the torch.  You know the inspiring story of their heroic devotion to the history-making cause.  After His crucifixion, those disciples in just a few years had faithfully and tirelessly spread Christianity throughout the world.

Today the faint-hearted say, “I am only one among billions.  What can little me do?”

Alone we are all weak; shining together, we are powerful.

It has been reported than an unusual request was made in a religious service in which 90,000 had assembled.  The lights were turned out and jet darkness settled over the crowd which sat there in curious silence.  Then there came a voice over the loud speaker, cutting through the blackness:  “Look this way.  I’m going to light a match.”  Immediately there was the small gleam of the tiny flame. Again the speaker spoke:  “Now I want each of you to light a match, please.”  Here and there flames appeared, more and more, until the stadium was aglow with brightness.

It all started with one match.  If each will shine, it will light our nation and our world.”        ~ Leroy Brownlow

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
II Corinthians 4:6

“There are two ways of spreading light.  To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”        ~ Unknown
