Divine Partnership

Looking over some articles this morning I came across this.  It is a very encouraging piece for the saved. When we are faced with trials, be it family, job, congregations, business or school, as long as we are in a righteous relationship with Him, He is with us.

The author believed God was for him, that He was taking his part.  In the struggle between right and wrong, surely God is not neutral.  His very nature dictates that He be on the side of right.  Accordingly, if we are on the side of righteousness, then God is for us – this is how simple the matter of Divine partnership is.  God is no respecter of persons, but He is a respecter of faith, trust, obedience, uprightness and worship.  As stated in Psalms, these are the reasons the God of Goodness was for this confident man:

“I believed.”   Psalms 116:10″

“In Thee do I put my trust.”   Psalms 7:1

“For I have kept the ways of the Lord.”      Psalms 18:21

“I was also upright before Him.”   Psalms 18:23

“I will worship toward Thy holy temple.”    Psalms 138:2

“It simply comes down to this:  God is on the side of him who is on His side.  So a timely, soul-searching question is, ‘Who is on the Lord’s side?’”     ~ Leroy Brownlow

“When I cry unto Thee, then shall mine enemies turn back:  this I know; for God is for me.”     Psalms 56:9

“What shall we say then say to these things?  If God be for us, who can be against us?”  Roman 8:31

“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.”      Psalms 34:15

“Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:  For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:  but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”          Proverbs 24:15-16

In the preceding verses, the wicked fail but God is with His child.  He hears them when they cry.  We believe God has forgotten us when troubles come, but for the faithful child of God, He is there in the midst of the storm and sees us through.  We do not come from conversion with a guaranteed freedom from trials, tribulations, sickness, setbacks and many other things that befall men, and it is the case for some that this realization can wound their faith when tribulations come.  But we have the most precious gift given to those who are His children, and it is prayer.  There we can petition our Father for help and comfort in time of need, and in time of rejoicing, to be ever grateful for His bountiful blessings bestowed upon us each day, and for help in time of trouble.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”   Psalms 46:1

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:  for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:  but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”     Romans 8:26-27

“Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side?  let him come unto me. . . . .”      Exodus 32:26

Are you on the Lord’s side?  This is a question we should all ask ourselves.

“I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right.  But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord’s side.”   A . Lincoln
