“One of the most tragic harmers in all the world is discouragement.  Unless it is soon whipped, it can become the cause of many ills:  It may invite defeat, stifle ambition, grow into envy, swell into resentment, and lead to dissipation.  Being too downhearted to stand upright, we may fall for anything.  Truly, despair may become the grave of dead hopes.

No matter what happens, keep our chins up and our eyes looking to the mountaintop.  The bigger we are, the more it takes to discourage us.  God lives.  The world keeps turning.  Don’t get off.   With His help, we can make it.”         ~ Leroy Brownlow

“Wait on the Lord:  be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart…..”     Psalms 27:14

  1. I found it interesting that there is a specific definition for faith. It is not just belief like many assume.

NT:4102 πι/στι∃ pistis (pis’-tis); from NT:3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:

NT:3982 πει/θω peitho (pi’-tho); a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty):

So my conclusion is that the more we read and study scripture, the more we are convinced by God’s arguments of what is true on any given topic. At first it was hard to wrap my mind around that, but just think about what all that entails!
